As an urban Delegated Indigenous Agency, SCCFS is committed to providing child and family services strongly rooted in Indigenous cultural values and world views while ensuring urban Indigenous children and youth grow up connected to family, community, and culture.

Surrounded by Cedar receives its delegation through the Provincial Director of Child Welfare, who gives the agency the authority to undertake administration of parts of the _Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA)_. Under its current delegation agreement, Surrounded by Cedar administers C4 services (Guardianship).

In the role as _**Cultural Support Worker**_, you will have the opportunity to:

- Assist with the design, development, and implementation of meaningful cultural programming for urban Indigenous children and youth in care
- Facilitate and deliver programming, including on the land learning opportunities
- Assist with preparations of agency events including rescindment and permanency planning ceremonies
- Connect with partners, caregivers, and family members to promote events and programs offered
- Identify, connect, and build meaningful relationships with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers from Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island

**What You Will Bring to the Role**:

- 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related discipline, (Sociology, Social Work, Child & Youth Care, Community Development, Public Administration).
- Structured, intentional teachings from Indigenous Knowledge Keepers
- Availability Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- Willingness to travel and work some evenings and weekends
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, a safe and reliable vehicle, and a favourable driver’s abstract
- Clear criminal records check

**Wage**:$45,647.93 - $51,427.75annually, depending on experience.
