The Junior Financial Analyst is involved in the development, monitoring and analysis of the detailed annual operating, statistical, and capital budgets. This position will utilize working knowledge of computerized business software to report and analyze statistical and financial data to both internal and external customers. Accounting knowledge is key in order to prepare monthly and yearly financial statements, the annual audit, as well as assist with internal controls and accounting systems. Other duties include accounts payable and receivable as well as invoicing.

**Primary** **Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform the daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting duties including but not limited to reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, year-end working paper preparation, financial statement preparation, payroll entries, reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Responsible for the creation and submission of mandatory funding, allocation and year-end reports to the Province of Ontario and Canada. (MOHLTC, GST/HST. Charitable Return, LHIN quarterly and yearly reporting)
- Regular analysis of the impact on revenue and expenses of funding announcements and economic realities.
- Liaise with external auditors ensuring all questions and inquires are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Liaise with vendors, partners and customers.
- Analyse and submit quarterly trial balance submissions combining financial, statistical and employee data as outlined in OHRS, ensuring submission completion.
- Strengthening the integrity of the financial and statistical information by implementing streamlined and technology based solutions to gather and disseminate data.
- Problem solving, research and analysis to assist managers and senior leadership with review and interpretation of financial and statistical outcomes.
- Provide support to managers and senior leadership to achieve the development of an operations budget that incorporates current and future trends in salaries and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education, Experience and Skills**

**Required**:

- Completion of a minimum 3-year college diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field is required.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an accounting role.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with business software tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new and diverse accounting software packages.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data to produce concise readable reports for decision support.
- Effective written, presentation and oral communication skills.
- Experience with financial statements preparation, budget development, general accounting duties and problem solving.

**Preferred**:

- Continued studies towards CPA.
- Knowledge of Great Plains, HRIS, QHR.
- Experience in hospital accounting with knowledge of OHRS/MIS would be an asset.

**Personal Attributes**:

- Highly self-motivated requiring little direct supervision.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and maintain strict adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information in a healthcare environment.
- A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (2 doses).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $83,000.00 per year
