**_Please note that this position supports both the CMHP - Prompt Care Clinic & Psychiatric Outreach_**

**Purpose**: Reporting to the Directors, Patient Care Services (DPCS) with oversight for Prompt Care Clinic and for Psychiatric Outreach, the Manager, Patient Care Services (MPCS) provides front line professional and administrative leadership for the teams in the delivery of mental health services. The MPCS, with the respective DPCSs works in partnership with Clinical Directors (CD) to monitor and maintain appropriate standards of an interdisciplinary professional mental health teams in accordance with established standards of practice and policy.

**Duties**:

- Provide clinical and administrative leadership.
- Oversee the experience in the effective and efficient delivery of clinical services in adherence to the program’s goals and objectives. Front line management and overseeing more than one area with a wide span of control
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with the CD, DPCS and team in the achievement of strategic goals, objectives, recruitment, labour relations and evaluation.
- Collaborate with partners hospitals to ensure timely access to services at The Royal. Participate in patient flow review processes.
- Participate in recruitment, labour relations and evaluation.
- Ensuring compliance with established standards of practice, corporate policies and guidelines.
- Support development and operation of specialty clinical expertise.
- Support the interdisciplinary approach to client-centred patient care and recovery principles.
- Responsible for the integration and coordination of patient services across disciplines and internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Inspire vision by identifying, establishing and communicating clear and meaningful expectations and outcomes
- Create engaging environments where others have meaningful opportunities to contribute and ensure that resources are available to fulfil their established responsibilities
- Assist with budget preparation and ensure sufficient fiscal resources are available.
- Ensure accurate completion of time cards.
- Maintain and develop partnerships with community partner agencies and networks.
- Implement corporate attendance management.

- Ensure safety and risk management practices within the program.
- Participate in development and delivery of educational and informational programs for employees, clients, families, and public.
- Ensure indicators are developed, monitored and evaluated and communicated related to the mental health services provided.
- Ensure communication and understanding of corporate strategic plan, policies, etc. with the team.
- Implement policies, procedures, objectives, standards and quality improvement measures.
- Complete annual performance review/development with assigned staff.
- Identify capital and operating budget requirements, monitor performance, initiate corrective plans as necessary.
- Manage in compliance within collective agreements and applicable legislation.
- Manage within a continuous quality improvement and collaborative approach.
- Implement corporate initiatives such as patient safety and infection control.
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free policy.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Proven success in working collaboratively with personnel from all disciplines including both clinical and technical professionals.
- Demonstrated success in achieving results, including the development of partnerships and coalitions.
- Experience with initiatives that led to system transformation.
- Knowledge/understanding of alternate level of care (ALC) reporting and best practices in patient flow.
- Experience with project leadership within the broader healthcare system.
- A strong background in clinical, learning and technology in a health care environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective processes across systems and stakeholders.
