The Strategic Purchasing Officer (SPO) position is important personnel of our team to manage all aspects of the supply base within the assigned categories. This includes the development and implementation of purchasing strategy for the area of responsibilities. Supporting project sourcing to optimize supply cost, meet supplier reliability targets and maintain/develop a supply base to minimize downtime and product risks.

**Responsibilities**
- Support the Project Managers in developing and implementing purchasing strategies.
- Purchase construction materials from local and potentially international markets, aligning with our project timeline and pipeline.
- Evaluate the materials and equipment needed to be purchased according to established guidelines.
- Drive plant cost reduction activities together with the Project Managers (quote analysis, RFQ generation, supplier review, etc.).
- Assists in the negotiation of Logistic Agreements, Quality Agreements, Inventory Sourcing Agreements and Master Supply Agreements.
- Oversee the preparation of reports.
- Initiate and participate in project team decisions.
- Support Project Manager Team in Supplier Escalations, Cost Opportunities, and short/long term strategies.
- Set up shipping schedules and ensure timely delivery of products.

**What will you need to succeed?**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing techniques and dexterity in "reading" the market.
- Talent in negotiations and networking.
- Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management.
- Ability to make decisions and work with numbers.
- Experience in data collection and analysis.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A team player with leadership skills.
- Knowledge of the other language (Mandarin, French, Arabic, etc.) is an asset.

**Security and safety**
- Must be able to obtain police clearances

**Salary**: $42,000.00-$52,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
