- **Position Profile**:_
Our Wildlife Rescue Dispatcher - Canada Summer Jobs role is great opportunity for youth to gain valuable skills and experience in the workplace. Positions can be 30-40 hours a week, for a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 16 weeks. Program dates run from April 24, 2023, to September 2, 2023. Exact hours and length of placements are not known until granted and announced by the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Established in 1979, Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is a leader in the rehabilitation of wild animals and is committed to educating the public on how to coexist peacefully with wildlife.
Located in Burnaby, BC, we are western Canada’s busiest wildlife rehabilitation centre, with over 6,000 animal patients admitted each year.

The Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is located on the ancestral and unceded homelands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples. We are grateful for the opportunity to be on this beautiful, shared territory.
- **Highlight of Key Responsibilities**:_
- Coordinate wildlife transports, rescues, and releases
- Represent Wildlife Rescue in a positive manner as a first contact to the public
- Cultivate and encourage important relationships with new and existing partner organizations
- Follow precise data collection procedures
- Support volunteers in various roles within the Support Centre
- Admit new patients to our facility
- Participate in the active communication between the Support Centre and the Hospital programs
- Discuss the benefit of donating with finders and members of the public
- **Key Qualifications & Experience**_
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment (e.g. restaurant, retail)
- Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve under pressure
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence
- Comfortable around small birds and mammals
- Willingness to take initiative and work independently
- Open availability (evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays)
