Description

The Business Development Manager, in collaboration with MISTRAS’ regional operations team, will lead business development, relationship management, and proposal preparation activities in his/her assigned region. Key responsibilities will include supporting MISTRAS’ ongoing operations activities and developing strategic sales growth plans that deliver value to our clients via time/complexity efficiencies and supply chain savings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
Business Development
- Prospecting and introduction of MISTRAS to new and developing clients.
- Actively engage with and build strong business relationships with MISTRAS’ customers to grow regional sales portfolio and close profitable business for the company.
- Readily update activities and opportunity details in our CRM system and through regular meetings with regional Ops personnel
- Working directly with Operations Team, develop short
- and long-term sales actions and strategies to find new sales leads
- Monitor customer satisfaction level pertaining to services provided by MISTRAS.
- Represent MISTRAS at all trade shows, professional meetings and industry forums, as deemed appropriate by executive management.
- Present innovative ideas and breakthrough approaches (including ongoing R&D activities) to MISTRAS’ customers to provide an “advanced look” at MISTRAS’ growing capabilities.
- Develop a detailed understanding of MISTRAS’ service & technology offerings.

Proposal Preparation and Development
- Develop detailed and articulate proposals/bids in response to client inquiries or RFPs included cost estimates.
- Engage with support staff for development of RFP/RFI responses.
- Initiate risk mitigation program (CHEQS) with key stakeholders at the onset of new proposal opportunities

Regional Strategy Support - to be further defined with Sales & Ops Management team
- Develop and implement regional sales growth plans consistent with MISTRAS’ overall business strategy.
- Develop list of prospecting targets (industries, clients, etc.)
- Support development of regional pricing strategies
- Maintain awareness of new & ongoing regional projects and coordinate with MISTRAS’ Regional Ops Managers and VPs to ensure resource availability for services delivery.

KEY INDUSTRY FOCUS AREAS FOR THIS POSITION:

- Pipeline construction and mechanical integrity
- Oil/Gas/Chemical pressure equipment fabrication/construction
- Oil/Gas/Chemical short term and long term maintenance event support (NDE, Mechanical Services, Rope Access, etc.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma
- Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or certification in NDT program or building trade is a plus.
- Existing experience with Oil/Gas and heavy industry clients in the region is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of NDT experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Sales and Marketing
- Valid Driver’s License
- Travel between 30-60% (primarily within region)
- Strong prospecting and client development skills are a must.
- Demonstrated ability to develop & maintain senior-level business relationships
- Proven ability to meet & exceed targeted sales goals
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.). Web-based CRM via Zoho.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:
Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
