Summary
We are seeking for a Payroll Analyst who must have a strong attention to detail and technical skills, including proficiency with automated payroll processing services. The National Payroll Institute’s, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) accreditation can be an asset. Payroll Analyst will stay current with changes Employment Standard Act or other regulations impacting employee payroll.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll for Union, Non Union hourly and salaried employees
- Ensure all data files are complete and approved for transmission to payroll service provider.
- Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets and other input documents.
- Track and enter all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
- Administer the issuance of T4’s, ROE’s, T2200, and various payroll reports as requested.
- Ensure that all salaries/wages are paid accurately and in accordance with regulations in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure payroll and other personnel records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in the preparation of year end reports, and filing of all annual returns with federal/provincial governments.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain employee records confidential.
- Be the main point of contact for all payroll related inquiries.
- Work with other team members to coordinate responsibilities, and prioritize tasks, ensuring all-important deadlines are met.
What you bring:
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or working towards is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and ESA cross Canada
- Proficiency with Excel.
- 3 years of experience working in payroll.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team setting, a dedicated team player.
- Able to work within tight payroll deadlines.
- Emphasis on attention to detail and strong numeracy skills.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
