**Position Summary**:
The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a General Pediatrician in a Clinical Associate Hospitalist role within the Division of Pediatric Medicine.

The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together, we provide outstanding patient care, leading research, and quality pediatric medical education. The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns, children and youth of the Ottawa area, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million). The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions, which includes Pediatric Medicine.

The Division of Pediatric Medicine is recruiting a General Pediatrician in a Clinical Associate (CA) Hospitalist role to assist in providing care for medical inpatients on the pediatric clinical teaching units (CTUs). The role would be to assist the staff pediatrician and medical team (residents and medical students) in providing care to patients admitted to the CTU. Work hours will primarily be coverage of weekdays with some weekend call.

CHEO's inpatient medical units admit a large breadth and volume of pediatric patients throughout the year. Encountered conditions are widely varied, including children with medical complexity, as well as those with common pediatric illnesses. There are approximately 3000 admissions and 16,000 patient days annually on the CTU, representing approximately 40% of the total inpatient hospital activity. CHEO has representation in all pediatric subspecialties.
