Tax Instalment Payment Clerk

Under the general supervision of the Senior Clerk of TIPP, the Tax Instalment Payment Plan Clerk is responsible for maintaining the Tax Instalment Payment Plan (TIPP) program for Realty and Business Tax, processing and verifying TIPP payments and providing superior levels of Customer Service in a professional manner.

**As the **_TIPP Clerk B, _**you will**:

- Entry of TIPP Applications
- Maintenance of TIPP Accounts
- Provide accurate information regarding TIPP accounts for Realty and Business Rolls
- Administer the monthly automatic debit process between the City and City’s lead bank
- Advise Applicant of Returned Payment and Update MANTA for Returned Payment
- Assists with automated system development and improvements and integrates new programs/changes into their work
- Perform tasks related to annual TIPP Recalculation and Realty and Business tax bill production
- Assist in Staff training Programs
- Performs other related duties consistent with the classification

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High School Graduation or equivalent
- Two (2) years office experience
- Excellent verbal and written abilities.
- Previous data entry and verification experience required
- Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of a personal computer using Microsoft Windows, Word (Advanced), Excel (Advanced), and Outlook.
- Ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to maintain composure and deal tactfully and diplomatically with difficult situations
- Interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and internal clients.
- Strong verbal communication skills that demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate complex sensitive information to a diverse client group
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and react resourcefully under pressure.
- Ability to work independently to coordinate work to meet multiple competing priorities
- Ability to analyze information for accuracy from various sources and to learn legislation and by-laws governing tax collection requirements of the City
- Knowledge of the functions of the Assessment and Taxation department is an asset.
