Poly-Nova opened in Guelph in 1996. We have a 30,000 square foot manufacturing plant and employ about 140 employees. We produce rubber products for the automotive & power transmission industries. Our areas of expertise are in rubber molding, material development, engineering, injection molding and over molding.
In 2011 we were purchased by Starlim Sterner, market leaders in Silicone Liquid Injection Molding, with the head office in Austria and a manufacturing plant in London Ontario. With the ability to offer rubber and silicone under one company we can expect exceptional growth for the future.

**Position Summary**
As Maintenance Manager you will be directing, planning, and coordinating maintenance activities for production and the physical building. You are responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the maintenance team, and supporting, motivating, and developing the team.
**Objectives**:
- Lead the maintenance team to keep all production equipment and building systems operating efficiently and is maintained in a safe and timely manner while supporting production processes.
- Support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives through performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and lead maintenance projects.
**Essential functions & responsibilities**
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage the day-to-day activities of the multi-disciplinary maintenance staff as well as outside contractors across all 3 shifts.
- Ensure maintenance employees are trained, equipped, and motivated so maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Review operations of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Ensure work instructions and processes are followed by all maintenance staff.
- Evaluate incoming work orders, prioritize the work, ensure timely completion, track them as necessary.
- Maintain HVAC electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and equipment, and process cooling systems.
- Liaise with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain on matters relating to equipment maintenance and availability.
- Assist with the identification of root causes following equipment failures and development of new maintenance tasks to eliminate re-occurrence.
- Maintain the preventative maintenance program.
**Required knowledge, skills, certificates & training**
- 5 - 10 years experience in manufacturing maintenance with supervisory/management experience
- Previous experience within the rubber industry is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge and experience in Electrical, Mechanical, and Millwright (certified in a trade preferred)
- Hands on knowledge and experience working with Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical, and PLC controlled production machinery including automation (robotics/bowl feeders/vision inspection systems)
- Experience with maintenance software programs. Implementation of a maintenance software program would be an asset.
- Leadership and performance management skills including the ability to motivate others.
- Team player, self starter, results oriented with familiarity of automotive environment.
- Positive and professional attitude under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
