For over 40 years, Elmwood Spa and Elmspa have been the leading destination for a relaxing and pampering experience. We have evolved throughout the years while keeping our historic façade that many know and love. We are a destination for celebration, relaxation, and an urban escape for all. We are proud of our rich heritage as Toronto’s Leading Day Spa.
Our restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch service from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and licensed. Guests can enjoy a delicious lunch and dining in spa robe is the preferred attire. With our own kitchen, the spa cuisine is fresh, prepared à la minute, and with traditional Canadian influences. The menu serves up healthy (and decadent) choices to suit every taste. When the weather permits, guests dine outside on the covered Terrace patio. Sometimes there are group events in the evening & weekends.

We primarily focus our energy on ensuring smooth and efficient operations of Terrace Restaurant, while providing oversight and operational direction in the Juice Bar, elmspa and Bangkok Garden kitchens. In this hands on role you will plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for the Terrace Restaurant. Prepares and cooks meals and specialty foods. Trains and develops other cooks by cascading vision of standards, environment, and work ethics. Understands the importance of and promote the Company’s Mission, Vision & Values, as may be established from time to time, and provide direction to staff in accordance with the Company’s policy and procedures in order to achieve organizational goals.
**Other duties include**:
- Managing the operational and fiscal activities of the kitchens to include staff administration (scheduling, payroll), budgets and financial goals (including accurate monthly inventory count and control, food cost, labor costs.)
- Conduct departmental components of staff orientation and ensure staff development through consistent training and staff development strategy.
- Supervises assigned personnel (e.g. screening, interviewing, recommending, training, evaluating, disciplining, conducting Performance reviews etc.) for the purpose of enhancing productivity of staff, and ensuring that department outcomes are achieved. Conduct bi-annual Departmental meetings.
- Plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies for Terrace and Juice Bar and ensure execution of menu items (minimum 4 menus per year).
- Primarily oversee daily activities of the Terrace Restaurant, and secondarily of Juice Bar and Elmspa. Provide support to the Bangkok Garden team when required.
