Recreation Assistant

:

- Responsible for leading and promoting resident awareness and participation, in leisure, social and recreation programs that meet the needs of the residents.
- Assists, in the maintenance of appropriate department records including attendance, assessments and evaluations of planned programs.
- Works with family members, staff, volunteers and the community groups to help fulfill each resident’s unique needs. Assists in maintaining a liaison with the community, local churches, senior groups and service organizations.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**:
Under the direction of the Manager of Recreation
- Have training in a field related to retirement living for active seniors.
- Have experience in social and recreational programming, or a related discipline.
- Be an innovative, creative individual with a keen interest in dementia, senior citizens and a proven capability of relating well to residents, their families, volunteers and the community at large.
- **A diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent experience**:

- **B.C. Class 4 Driver’s license and Level 1 First Aid are required.**:

- **Osteofit certified or knowledge of body mechanics and Exercise experience for seniors**.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From $22.96 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2024-04-14
