Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing overall mechanical and support to the production group in the areas of plastics recycling to ensure continuous operations.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safety, quality and performance of recycling lines on his/her assigned shift by, supervising the performance of hourly team members, tracking daily shift key performance indicators (KPI) and providing overall decision making to ensure production targets are attained. He/she provides technical support for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all production lines as assigned. Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness, while maintaining a safe environment. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

**Responsibilities**:

- Strong Leadership skills with the ability to provide positive direction.
- Oversees maintenance of highly automated plastics recycling equipment and overall maintenance department.
- Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot diverse types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production equipment and support equipment, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, SOP’s, and work orders.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Lead team to maintain clean and tidy working environment.
- Promptly respond to equipment related issues with a customer-oriented manner.
- Efficiently assist with changeovers and verify on required equipment.
- Cover for an absence of Shift Mechanic.
- Maintain a 50% presence on the production floor, monitoring employees and all equipment for safety, and quality risks.
- Filter, Generate and assign work orders to staff through scheduler.
- Monitor work order completion rates to assure 100% compliance.
- Measure hourly KPI’s of equipment performance to plan.
- Accountable for maintaining R&M CPU.
- Hold daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with team and other plant departments.
- Walk production line and facility to determine needs and prioritize.
- Oversees safety activities and monitors compliance within department.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Trains, coaches, and reviews performance of employees. Works with Plant Manager for employee discipline issues, terminations, and recruitment.
- Organize, monitor, and support OEM and contract groups during overhauls and repairs.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Education/Skills/Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years in a Maintenance Manager position with mechanical experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
- 433A Millwright License or 309A/442A Electrical License would be an asset.
- Possess strong electrical and PLC knowledge.
- Ability to correctly read and interpret schematics.
- Experience working with preventative maintenance software.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of change.
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures.
- Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude.
- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Possess a positive drive to assist all departments, as required.
- Available to work as required with an “on call” component.
