**NATURE OF WORK**

The occupation of the education consultant includes
the advising of senior officials in educational
services, teachers and other professionals in matters
concerning the implementation, development and
evaluation of the teacher trainee program, the
appropriate academic organization and the selection
and use of methods, techniques, equipment, teaching
material etc.

**CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS**

Keeps abreast of research and new developments in
the field of education, with respect to curriculum and
educational methods, complementary activities,
manuals and other educational material and
evaluation of academic performance;
Oversees to the introduction of both experimental
and other new developments in the area of
professional development; in conformity with the
policy established by the Board;
Provides information on new requirements brought
about by changes and encourages a continuous
process of evaluation within the milieu and advises
the Board and all persons concerned;
Evaluates classroom skills in the areas of
management, methodology and content.

Provide information to students and the school
administration regarding academic courses and
course schedules.

**NATURE DU TRAVAIL**

Le conseiller pédagogique doit, parmi ses fonctions,
fournir des conseils aux cadres supérieurs des
services éducatifs, aux enseignants et autres
professionnels sur des sujets touchant la mise en
œuvre, le développement et l’évaluation du
programme de stages des professeurs, l’organisation
scolaire appropriée ainsi que le choix et l’utilisation
de méthodes, de techniques, d’équipement, de
matériel pédagogique, etc.

**ATTRIBUTIONS CARACTÉRISTIQUES**

S’informe régulièrement des recherches et des
nouveaux développements dans le secteur de
l’éducation, relativement au programme d’études et
aux méthodes pédagogiques, aux activités
complémentaires, aux manuels et autres matériels
pédagogiques, ainsi qu’à l’évaluation de la
performance scolaire;
Voit à l’introduction de méthodes expérimentales et
de nouvelles pratiques en matière de
perfectionnement professionnel; en conformité avec
la politique établie par la commission scolaire;
Fournit de l’information concernant les nouvelles
exigences induites par les changements, favorise le
processus d’évaluation continue au sein du milieu
éducatif et conseille la commission scolaire et toutes
les personnes intéressées;
Évalue les compétences pédagogiques dans les
domaines de la gestion, de la méthodologie et du
contenu.

Fournir des informations aux élèves et à
‘administration de l’école concernant les cours
académiques et les horaires des cours.

Carry out formative and summative assessments
during the Field Experiences for the students in the
programs.

Support and mentor students who are in the
classrooms.

Co-ordinate the logistics of courses offered in the
communities that the Education Consultant is
responsible for.

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty
notably education.

A permanent teaching permit issued by the
Minister of
Education of Quebec (Brevet).

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a teacher.

Bilingualism required, Cree and English; French is an
asset.

Knowledge of the M.E.E.S. programs;
Willingness to travel.

**EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS**

Regular Full-time position
35 hrs/week

**SALARY**

Regular Full-time. 35 hours per week.

**Salary**: $25.25/hr - $45.22/hr
- Benefits include a retention premium ranging from _
- $5,500 to $10,000, Northern Allowance ranging from _
- $8,484 to $13,573 as well as other benefits outlined in _

**QUALIFICATIONS MINIMALES REQUISES**

Diplôme universitaire terminal de premier cycle dans
un champ de spécialisation approprié à l’emploi,
notamment en éducation.

Brevet d’enseignement (Québec).

Minimum de cinq ans d’expérience comme
enseignant.

Bilinguisme requis, Anglais et cri ; Français est un
atout.

Connaissance des programmes du M.E.E.S.;
Disponible à voyager.

**CONDITIONS D'EMPLOI**

Poste régulier, temps plein
35 hrs/sem.
