**MCRI (Moncton Community Residences Inc. **is a non-profit organization that provides residential services, options and support for individuals with developmental challenges in the various aspects of their progressing lives.

**Position Overview**: As a SILP Human Services, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of individuals with disabilities who live independently. These individuals require specialized care due to their unique needs, including frequent behaviors that may require patience, empathy, and understanding. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive care and support to these youth, fostering a nurturing and safe environment where they can thrive.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Uniquely Designed Service Support**: Help to develop and implement personalized relationship agreements tailored to each individual’s specific needs, considering their diagnosis / disabilities, behavioral patterns, emotional well-being, goals, and aspirations. Identify changes and propose necessary updates. Carry out Relationship agreements effectively. Be open to discuss difficult topics and situations.
- ** Relationships and Stability**:Develop and maintain trusting relationships with the individuals receiving services to provide a stable and supportive environment** **and communicate effectively. Support individuals receiving services to develop healthy relationships with others. Respect professional boundaries. Provide stable and consistent support.
- ** Lifelong Connections**: support individuals to build and maintain healthy relationships with others. Encourage social engagement and participation in social events. Support individuals to create and maintain connections with peers, family members, and other groups. Offer support with their communication, social skills and interactions with others if needed.
- ** Behavioral Support**: Provide behavioral coaching and behavioral modification strategies according to relationship agreement. Support individuals to develop skills and coping mechanisms. Provide positive reinforcement, and feedback. Encourage the involvement and participation of individuals in their own support plan. Get their input to identify changes in support strategy and update relationships agreements accordingly.
- ** Emotional Guidance**: Offer emotional support and guidance to individuals experiencing distress or difficulty with their experiences and emotions. Provide support for individuals to develop and maintain healthy relationships with others. Employing active listening and empathy to establish trust and rapport according to the Mandt philosophy and Trauma Informed Care training.
- ** Promote increased Independence. Daily Living Assistance**: Assist individuals with daily living activities according to their relationship agreement and needs, including personal and residential hygiene, meal preparation, health related appointments, medication administration, and household chores, finances management, housing arrangements, etc. Foster independence and self-care skills. Promote autonomy and teach life skills (such as: cooking, cleaning, urban transportation, budgeting, etc.) according to the individual’s needs. Support the individual to become more independent.
- ** Social Inclusion**: Organize and facilitate recreational and leisure activities that promote socialization, physical fitness, community involvement and skill development, adapting activities to accommodate individual interests and abilities. Support youth to build positive relationships with others, and social skills though group interactions.
- ** Goals and aspirations Support**: Support individuals with their goals and aspirations. Offer counselling and advise while considering individuals’ decisions. Communicate and collaborate with other professionals, support staff and/or family members involved in the individuals’ life or care.
- ** Crisis Intervention**: Respond promptly and effectively to crisis situations, following established protocols, crisis plans and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual, other members and employees. Address any bullying or aggressive behavior between members or towards staff.
- ** Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of individuals’ progress, health, behaviors, and incidents. Observing, recording, preparing, and presenting reports and communication logs for review by supervisory staff and external stakeholders. Including Health logs, Incident reports, #35, visit reports, financial reports and other forms. Recognize individuals’ achievements and progress.
- ** Collaborative Approach**: Work collaboratively with team members and other service providers for the individual to ensure coordinated and holistic care. Orientate, support and be a mentor to new employees. Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development opportunities, employee surveys, and other company events.
