Heavy Equipment Operator

**perform daily safety and maintenance checklists**:
- **operate equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and /or property damage**:
- **participate in routine maintenance**:
- **advise on site foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs**:
- **ensure equipment is cleaned as required regularly and always ready for transport**:
- **other related duties as assigned**
**Requirements**:
- **proven work experience - minimum 2 years operating excavator and /or backhoe**:
- **valid driver's license and reliable transportation**:
- **reports directly to site supervisor/foreman**:
- **acceptable driver's abstract**
**Skills and Knowledge**
- **ability to operate various types of equipment preferred but excavator and /or backhoe essential**:
- **knowledge of underground municipal services / utilities an asset**:
- **familiar with safety rules, instructions and policies an asset**:
- **strong verbal and listening communication skills required**:
- **must demonstrate the following personal attributes: honest, trustworthy, respectful and have sound work ethics**
NOTE: Wage negotiated at time of interview. Competitive for local industry.
