**Duties**:

- Deliver a course load of five courses per academic year.
- Development and supervision of students' Internships for INCA 290 and INCA 490; and
- Contribute to the curriculum and delivery of INCA Summer Institutes INCA 200 and INCA 400
- Have a working knowledge of news values, local news, audience engagement, news production, current affairs, specialty show production, Indigenous news, documentary production.
- Have a working knowledge and experience mentoring students and entry level journalists in focusing stories, interviewing, research, editing.
- Instruct in a variety of introductory-to-advanced undergraduate courses in broadcast news techniques.
- Participate in development of new curriculum to expand course offerings in Indigenous Journalism and Communication.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining equipment used in audio and video production.
- Assist with developing and implementing recruiting strategies for the INCA programs and special projects.
- Contribute to building innovative approaches to teaching in the Indigenous Communication & Fine Arts program.
- Contribute to the continued academic development of the Indigenous Journalism and Communication Arts programs.
- Serve as representative for the Indigenous Communication & Fine Arts program on various academic committees.
- Other related duties as assigned by the INCA Program Coordinator

**Qualifications**:

- A Masters degree preferably in Indigenous Communication, Journalism and/or Indigenous Studies. A combination of education and relevant experience will be taken into consideration.
- Have a minimum of 20 years journalism experience.
- have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Have a working knowledge of news values, local news, audience engagement, news production, current affairs, specialty show production, Indigenous news, documentary production.
- Have a working knowledge and experience mentoring students and entry level journalists in focusing stories, interviewing, research, editing.
- A thorough knowledge of Indigenous and general news production.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level, including short term and semester long terms.
- Knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards.
- Ability to teach and support student projects.
