Scope:
As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Corporate Purchaser executes purchasing & inventory control tasks, supports the branch purchasing/inventory control operations, and continuously works on cost saving initiatives.

You will assist to oversee purchasing conducted by the branches and execute centralized purchasing from vendors under their responsibility. You will serve as a professional resource for internal and external customers.

**Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Work in partnership with members of the supply chain team to identify the preferred, cost-effective purchasing strategy (by supplier, by location)
- Communicate on a regular and systematic basis with sales/marketing personnel to forecast demand and align purchasing operations with projected sales
- Maintain the company’s computer system setting to increase purchasing efficiency and improve data integrity
- Carry out purchasing of assigned vendors that are managed centrally, included:

- Replenishment orders
- Special orders
- Maintain and develop a professional relationship with vendors, to continuously strengthen NEEI’s position with them
- Balance inventory among branches to reduce aged products, optimize availability, turnover and transportation costs
- Identify and reduce slow moving inventory by returning goods to vendors, explore sales opportunities within the company, and establish pro-active plans to prevent undesirable inventory accumulation
- Consolidate purchasing among branches to achieve concession levels and maintain the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Assist in maintaining customs information, to ensure NEEI pays the least amount of duty
- Support senior and local managers by providing professional analysis of inventory investments
- Ensure system costing of products for assigned vendors is updated at all times
- Participate in professional conferences and seminars, identify areas of interest to NEEI and share relevant information with other members of the supply chain and branch team
- Analyze information and perform key indicator analysis on regular basis to highlight improvement opportunities and identify trends that can lead to pro-active corrective action

**Required Qualifications**:

- _Desirable_: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business or Finance
- 5-7 years of experience in purchasing/procurement or supply chain in a B2B or B2C environment - logistics and customs experience is highly desirable
- Proven success in change management within a multi-location environment
- Must demonstrate strong business acumen, be highly organized, analytical, creative, and decisive
- Should be a fluent and highly articulate communicator, with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience in formulating and negotiating commercial contracts, item database management (setup, costing & pricing) and supply chain cost accounting desirable
- Any additional, related certifications are desirable _but not essential_ (e.g. SCMP/CPP/P.Log, Project Management, Six Sigma, Lean practices) - we believe in hiring for _**attitude**_ above all
