Health & Safety Summer Student - CSS Edmonton
We are looking for one enthusiastic Health and Safety (H&S) Summer Student to provide invaluable support to our H&S department.

The rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in conducting regular office inspections, tracking any identified deficiencies and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Conduct safety audits of Agency facilities, safety equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OH&S legislation and Agency policies and procedures
- Assist in collection and analysis of data related to safety metrics, trends and performance indicators to identify areas of improvement.
- Support the maintenance of safety documentation, including inspection and drill reports, emergency response plans and driver training completion follow-ups
- Contribute to the promotion of a positive safety culture by actively engaging with employees, providing support and guidance on safety maters and encouraging participation in safety initiatives
- Flexible and adaptable to a wide range of tasks and activities

Requirements and skills
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Health, Safety and Environment certificate, diploma or degree program
- Position requires moderate to frequent travel within Edmonton and Central Alberta
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license. Must arrange own transportation to be reimbursed in accordance with Agency policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Basic knowledge of Alberta OH&S legislation
- Organizational skills
