**Program Overview**

**Role of the Program Coordinator**

**Essential Duties of the Position**:

- Program Development, Coordination and Implementation.
- Completes admission process by documenting applicable information on standard forms and daily logs.
- Ensures licensing requirements are met and programming standards upheld by all staff.
- Develop and keep updated a Safer Spaces Housing Program Handbook.
- Housing Operations and Coordination.
- Lead housing operations and facilities support.
- Lead case team meetings to develop, review and revise case plans, as well as the decisions regarding transfers and discharges.
- When applicable within role, work closely with law enforcement and victim services to support youth pursuing charges against their perpetrators.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of residents and staff by complying with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) program standards and practices and maintaining a clean environment.
- Other duties as delegated by the Manager, Director and/or Executive Director.

**Qualifications and Requirements**

The Coordinator will hold a degree in social work or related field such as, international development studies, sociology, child and youth studies, education, health promotion, or equivalent education and experience. They will have a minimum of three years’ experience in program development and administration and experience conducting best practice research and implementing research findings and recommendations. The coordinator will have an understanding of feminist theoretical perspectives and intersectionality. Also, of issues such as racism/colonialism, violence against women, sexualized human trafficking, sexual health, and poverty. They will have knowledge of, and experience with community-based, trauma-informed, harm reduction practices as well as a strong commitment to ongoing learning and development in these areas and experience working in collaborative environments on complex issues involving multiple and diverse stakeholders.
