Program Manager

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
**The Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, management and continuity of the organization's various programs and services. The Manager is also required to support staff and provide guidance and leadership to ensure the successful facilitation of programs and services. The Manager will work alongside other management to help oversee some human resource areas including personnel recruitment, hiring, evaluation, professional development, disciplinary actions, and more.**
**Qualifications**:
- **Post-Secondary education in business administration; human resource management; or related field; and**:
- **Three years’ minimum experience working in program management, preferably within a non-profit, charitable, community-based, Indigenous organization;**
**OR combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Hiring Committee.**
- **Excellent understanding of, and demonstrated skills in, program management and organizational leadership;**:
- **Knowledge of the Friendship Centre Movement and Indigenous culture;**:
- **Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills;**:
- **Able to make sound business decisions and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior management;**:
- **Working knowledge of current applicable legislation (ie. Employment Standards Act), practices, standards and policies;**:
- **Experience working in program design, planning, implementation and evaluation; program reporting and accountability; proposal and grant writing;**:
- **Must have presentation and facilitation experience, and strong interpersonal and communication skills;**:
- **Sound leadership and teambuilding skills, building positive working relationships with staff and management;**:
- **Must have the ability to work in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions; work independently and as a team, with mínimal supervision;**:
- **Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable car and be willing to travel as required;**:
- **Indigenous heritage a preference (ref: Aboriginal Employment Preference Policy); and,**:
- **A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) will be a condition of the employment offer.**:
- **Must be fully vaccinated according to our policy.**
**Temporary, contract position**
**Salary: range from $60,000 to $65,000 plus health benefits**
