We have a full-time, temporary opportunity for a Payroll Coordinator looking to grow their career and join our corporate office based in Burnaby, BC to backfill during a maternity leave. This opportunity is anticipated to start August 1, 2023, and conclude August 30, 2024.

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Coordinator, participates in the processing of a complex payroll for over 700 salaried, hourly, and unionized Canadian employees. This role also provides backfill support for HR Administration and Benefits.

**Responsibilities**:
Payroll Administration
- Administer and process payroll for 700+ union and non-union employees, semi-monthly.
- Government reporting and calculations
- Benefit and Pension calculations and remittances
- Month end reconciliations and vacation accruals
- Reporting as required from Management group
- Year-end T4 production and reconciliation
- Respond to payroll queries from employees, management, and external parties
- Special projects and ad hoc analyses as prescribed

HR & Benefits Administration (backfill support)
- Processes new hires, terminations, pay changes, garnishees, and other employment changes
- Processes benefits enrolment, terminations, and changes
- Reconciles monthly benefits statements and remits payments
- Ensure vacation tracking and other benefits are accurately maintained

**Qualifications / Requirements**:
You are an experienced payroll professional who can adapt to any situation. You think critically and analytically to provide unique solutions to complex problems. You are proactive and your payroll expertise sets you apart from your peers. Further, your high-level attention to detail makes you excellent at what you do. You also bring:

- Minimum 3 + years payroll experience with strong systems and payroll process knowledge
- Certified Canadian Payroll Designation (PCP, CPM)
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Proficiency with large, multi-functional ERP systems
- Experience with unionized, multi-province/territory environments with experience in interpreting collective agreements
- Knowledgeable about CRA regulations and provincial Employment Standards
- Meticulous, accurate, and pays attention to details
- Experience with US payroll is considered an asset
- For this position, you will be required to undergo a background check
