Reporting to the Director Environmental Management Operations, the Climate Resilience Manager will build and maintain functional and collaborative relationships within IO and across all external stakeholders (ministries, project & program teams, service providers) providing technical guidance, contract management, business & financial acumen, and oversight towards climate resilience and sustainability performance results. This role will interact with senior management, business units across IO, and technical teams to implement and oversee climate resilience & sustainability initiatives in alignment with IO’s strategic priorities.

**What You Will Do**:

- Be the technical lead for enterprise-wide Climate Resilience and Sustainability projects and programs, supporting internal and external clients to manage enterprise risk and regulatory requirements.
- Identify climate related risks based on program specific needs and provide technical direction to progress Climate Resilience objectives and to mitigate risks.
- Provide strategic Climate Resilience and Sustainability recommendations to the Environmental Management team to deliver on client objectives, influence process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Develop Climate Resilience and Sustainability technical recommendations and guidelines to be applied across the enterprise.
- Monitor and interpret Climate Resilience and Sustainability industry trends and recommend initiatives to maintain alignment with industry best practices.
- Lead the development, planning, and delivery of site-specific resilience due diligence, including completing the analysis of existing conditions, proposed undertakings, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the determination for the appropriate technical scopes of work.
- Support the Environment Management team on related programs including environmental, natural environment, and cultural heritage projects and support project due diligence activities relating to vendor procurement.

**Who We’re Looking For**:

- Post-Secondary degree in a related field (environmental studies, climate science, planning) ideally with minimum 8 years of experience with and/or knowledge of Climate Resilience, Sustainability, and Energy Management; accreditation in LEED would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of provincial ministry policies on energy and climate resilience as related to building systems.
- Knowledge of asset management, including building envelope, mechanical, electrical, building systems/codes/standards as related to energy management and climate resilience, and climate risk assessments for new construction.
- Experience with liaising and collaborating with regulatory agencies and key stakeholders (Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks, Conservation Authorities, Fisheries and Oceans Canada etc.)
- Familiarity with environmental legislation, permitting and approvals processes.
- Exceptional communication (written/verbal) and collaboration skills with the ability to influence and present at all levels.
