**Job Function**:
The Climate Change Manager, Environmental Services will lead a team of staff accountable for the facilitation of corporate-wide programs to manage the impacts of the changing climate on Hydro One, our customers and the environment. Hydro One’s climate change programs focus on three interrelated aspects:

- Calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions internally and externally (Reporting)
- Enabling the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with Hydro One and our customers’ operations (Mitigation), and
- Planning and implementation of changes to Hydro One processes, practices and infrastructure to moderate potential impacts or to benefit from opportunities associated with climate change (Adaptation)

The Manager will be responsible for managing, supporting a high-performance collaborative team capable of guiding the company and customers to understand and meet the challenges of climate change that are strategically important to Hydro One and our investors. The Manager will work collaboratively with leadership and the Sustainability team on the development and implementation of company-wide policies and procedures.

Reporting to a Senior Leader within Environmental Services, the Manager will provide leadership and specialist environmental support to senior management and staff throughout the company. The Manager will also be expected to support or lead advancements in other key areas to benefit the Environmental Services team, which may relate to policy, innovation, pursuits, accounting, etc. This position will support business operations and customers across Hydro One’s service area but will require mínimal travel. The position will be located at Hydro One’s head office at Trinity Square in Toronto.
- Lead a team of professional staff to deliver climate change Reporting, Mitigation and Adaptation support and deliverable, per scheduled delivery dates ensuring quality control.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, counsel, and guidance necessary to staff to ensure conformity to regulation, and company direction.
- Support Hydro One and our customers with prescribed climate change mitigation or adaptation programs through the initial planning stage, identification of alternatives, implementation and achievement of planned goals
- Oversee in the development and documentation of metrics to track mitigation or adaptation accomplishments and achievements.
- Ensure consistency in overall approach for corporate undertakings in line with Hydro One’s strategic priorities.
- Integration of environmental management metrics into sustainable reporting.
- Monitor, evaluate and maintain current knowledge of climate change legislation, standards, best management practices, technologies, developments in other jurisdictions and changes in processes to identify climate change risk and opportunities for the company and our customers.
- Attend and participate in meetings at level appropriate to support the Environmental Leader on programs and balance knowledge and awareness of program status and issues with a goal to creating an environment for staff growth, development and autonomy.
- Maintain and review consulting service contracts to procure external climate change services,
- Provide climate change services and advice in accordance with established scope, budget and timelines.
- Track deliverables to support corporate projects and initiatives and consult, influence and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of parties to enable the company to meet its business objectives.
- Assign duties and make decisions regarding staff and organizational changes. Provide guidance relative to staff problems and disciplinary issues and implement effective change management. Authorize expense reports and administer pay. Provide performance feedback and assess capabilities.
- Ensure high quality services are provided in a cost effective and timely manner, while ensuring compliance with Hydro One policy, standards and specifications and all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
