Doman's sales force is made up of internal representatives, external representatives and commodity traders.

As one of the three key positions for direct customer contact, the Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in creating positive first impressions and the correct way to take an order by ensuring accuracy, confirming details with the customer, efficiently entering the order into the system and relaying essential information to the Operations team. In addition, the Inside Sales Representative has the opportunity to help increase sales volume on every order by leveraging Doman's A4 customer conversation model.

Playing a ‘generalist’ role, the Inside Sales Representative is comfortable selling engineered wood products, siding, decking and railing products, as well as all other building material lines. Our customers include independent lumber yards, regional building supply dealers, national home improvement chains, industrial customers and OEM customers.

**REPORTING STRUCTURE**

The Inside Sales Representative reports to the Inside Sales Supervisor.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Internal Sales Responsibilities**
- Work with the Structural Wood Sales Specialist (EWP) to deliver and maintain programs and services.
- Support customer relationships within an established dealer network using exceptional service skills and proactive sales techniques.
- Assist customers with product and delivery enquiries where appropriate.
- Enter credits and returns quickly and accurately.
- Liaise between the customer and all internal departments.

**Estimator responsibilities**
- Read all documents, including plans and specifications for EWP and exterior cladding.
- Manage cuts and cuttings, schedule cuts.
- Communicate with related departments.
- Supervising all projects and ensuring that they are delivered on schedule.
- Prepare tenders and analyze the list of materials required for these projects.

**Business Development Responsibilities**
- Support the EWP Sales Specialist through business development presentations, lead generation activities and customer visits as required.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and industry activity to help develop new business strategies and growth opportunities in conjunction with the EWP Specialist.
- Responsible for data/reporting, analysis and recommendations to support EWP business activities, customer reviews and marketing plans.
- Undertake a variety of administrative tasks including dispatch, spreadsheet maintenance, stock management and tracking and other tasks as required.
- Participate in joint business planning sessions with key customers and develop an evidence-based approach to servicing the customer network.
- Participate in lead generation for allied product sales as an extension of the inside sales team.

**Requirements**:
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES**

**Sales skills**
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills over the telephone.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Feel comfortable making outbound calls to existing customers.
- At least three years' related sales experience.

**In terms of technical knowledge**
- Ability to quickly acquire technical knowledge relevant to the construction industry and our product ranges.
- A good knowledge of wood-frame residential construction would be an asset.
- The ability to read plans and specifications, and experience with CAD and Planswift software, are assets.

**Other skills**
- Ability to use Excel, Word and Outlook and good computer and keyboarding skills.
- Ability to perform numerical calculations correctly.
- Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to persuade customers to buy our products over the telephone.
- A self-motivated individual who takes a collaborative and proactive approach to meeting customer needs, solving problems and building positive working relationships.

**EDUCATION**
- A secondary school diploma is a minimum requirement.
- Formal sales training would be desirable.

**LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS**
- Excellent knowledge of French is a job requirement.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a job requirement.
