Toronto, Canada SvN Architects + Planners Full time

SvN Architects + Planners is looking for a high-level junior or an intermediate Planner to join our award-winning team. Some of our most significant contributions to the fabric of the GTHA include the Reconfiguration of the Six Points Interchange, Shoppers World Brampton Master Plan, Eglinton Connects Planning + Urban Design Study, the Dundas Connects Land Use and Transportation Master Plan for the City of Mississauga and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Urban Design Guidelines.

**Role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Seamlessly marry the practices of planning and design;
- Work with the SvN team to tackle critical urban issues;
- Support the firm’s Principals and Leads to pursue, execute and deliver strategic plans and dynamic policy documents rooted in a deep understanding of the implications on the built environment;
- Support research and report development as part of the development approvals process for a range of private and public sector clients;
- Assist with increasing SvN’s visibility by supporting awards submissions and presentations; and participating in the broader community of planning + design professionals.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Masters Degree in Planning;
- Minimum three years of experience in urban planning in North America;
- Experienced with the structure, process and policy and legislative framework of planning in Ontario: Provincial, Regional and Municipal Policy (Growth Planning, Supportive ‘Infrastructure’ Planning (e.g. Transportation and Movement, Housing), secondary plans, framework plans, hub/ corridor studies, etc.);
- Solid background in one or more areas of land use planning, such as:

- Community Design (Master Planning, Area Specific Design Frameworks; Policy Development; Parameters for the Built and Public Realm Environments);
- Development Approvals (including Development Management); and/or
- Social and Environmental Sustainability Planning + Design.

Our experience working from the gathering of constraint information and formation of vision, to the formation of concept, development of “framework” (policy or design), through to construction, allows us to provide a unique suite of services.
