**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, and working in close collaboration with the Digital Content and Communications Specialist, and the outreach and engagement team, Faculty of Engineering and Design, the Communications Assistant will support the marketing and communications for outreach and engagement events and initiatives within the Faculty.

It is essential that all communications and marketing materials be produced with the highest standards and convey consistent messaging, accuracy of information, quality of presentation, and a common visual identity as they reflect the University and Faculty’s reputation to its internal and external stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

- Knowledge of and proficient in the use and effectiveness of social media platforms (current and emerging) including, but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Tik Tok.
- Experience in executing communications plans.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective working in a team and independently.
- Strong client service ethic and high expectation for quality.
- Effective writing, editing and proofreading skills are required.
- English language fluency is required.
- Experience in editing photography and videography.
- Experience in digital layout and/or graphic design.
- Knowledge of the University’s culture and institutional goals and objectives is an asset.

**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:

- Three (3) year post-secondary program in marketing, communications, public relations or related discipline
- Three years of related work experience in marketing and communications and/or public relations preferably in an academic setting
- Specific experience in developing content for and monitoring web-based communication vehicles and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Tik Tok and Snapchat is required.
