**Service Technician**

**The role.**

As a Service Technician you will conduct routine preventative maintenance and breakdown services, both in our shop and customer locations in the field. The Service Technician works closely with our Service Manager and the Customer Support Team to ensure all customer needs are met and service cases are closed to a high standard. This position requires a strong commitment to teamwork, excellent mechanical abilities, electrical knowledge, and a customer first focus.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Conduct routine maintenance on a variety of packaging equipment including vacuum sealers, tray sealers, band sealers, and others.
- Diagnose machine breakdowns, identify optimal solutions, and carry out repairs in a timely fashion.
- Safely operate company vehicles in the GVRD with several overnight trips per year within BC.
- Create and maintain service records within our Business Management Software.
- Maintain FoodPak’s excellent brand image and professionalism while working in the field and communicating with customers.
- Maintain proper parts inventory and materials in the service vehicle as well as in our shop.
- Educate customers about proper care and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as required.

**Requirements**:

- Background or education in electrical/electronics or other related technical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
- Technical understanding of electro-mechanical equipment with food packaging-related equipment and/or vacuum pumps being an asset.
- Proven ability to assess, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve technical problems with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to travel within Western Canada for up to one week at a time.
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with computers and related software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an awareness of customer needs.
- Attention to detail in doing technical service work with patience, persistence, and good communication to the customer and Foodpak team.
- Comfortable working in diverse and busy industrial/commercial spaces with varying environmental conditions.
- Able to safely lift at least 60 lbs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving abstract (preferred)
