**Key Responsibilities**:

- Identifying relevant grant opportunities from foundations, government, corporations and other funding sources;
- Research and Analysis: Research through a variety of online sources, market reports, stats can, academic publications, client and organizational data and reports, and government policy and initiatives to develop a coherent narrative for a funding proposal;
- Working with internal stakeholders to write grants, as they become available;
- Maintaining an understanding of our activities/operations and the grants that align with these;

- Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. Previous experience/knowledge in the field of immigration, social services, youth development, lgpbt2+, anti-racism, and budgeting is an asset;
**Experience and Skills Required**:

- University degree in English, international studies, political science, economics, or any other humanities or social science degree.
- Excellent writing skills (business and technical English). The role demands very strong writing and editing skills. You will be responsible for drafting and editing complex funding proposals.
- Working knowledge of various methods of evaluation and assessment relating to social services and education
- Eligibility to work in Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Attend in-person and virtual client meetings as required
- Attend site visits
- Prepare event files for each event
- Take notes at all meetings and update files accordingly
- Assist with vendor sourcing and negotiations
- Help to create and revise room layouts for each event.
- Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
- Assist with coordinating on-site production of events as necessary including coordinating vendors and supervising on-site volunteers
- Assist with virtual & hybrid events as needed
- Prepare forms, schedules, materials, packages, registration lists, etc. as needed
- Some travel may be required.

**Event Administration**:

- Assist with ongoing management of event budgets
- Provide periodic progress reports for each event project.
- Coordinate appointments and scheduling of events on the calendar.
- Act as the point of contact for smaller events as needed.
- Liaise with other events staff and programs such as Ethnicity Kitchen

**Qualifications**
- Excellent communication skills in English. Fluency in any other language is an asset;
- Student in a post secondary, vocational or technical program are eligible;
- Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- Student is legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Between 15 to 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- Foreign students are not eligible.
