**About the Position**:Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Philanthropy, the Grant Writer will perform duties to advance Closer to Home’s fund development endeavors. In this full-time position, the Grant Writer will lead funding research through skilled use of Donor databases (e.g., eTapestry) and identify other funding sources that are in alignment with the strategic priorities of the agency. The Grant Writer will effectively write and submit proposals as well as follow-up with funding activities. The Grant Writer will provide Community program reporting and take part in some fund development work such as donor stewardship. The Grant Writer will be skilled at creating and maintaining excellent relationships with current and perspective donors and funders. The Grant Writer will work closely with other members of the agency to identify emerging needs and trends and successfully work toward funding solutions.

**About You**: You are a self-motivated individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. You are highly detail focussed and are able to work independently and meet strict deadlines. You are organized, allowing for effective management of competing priorities. You are also extremely adaptable and can adjust to changing priorities as needed. In addition, you have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds as well as with people at all levels of the organization. You are culturally competent and able to conduct yourself in a manner which is respectful and encouraging of the cultural/spiritual beliefs and practices of others.
