**What can I expect to do in this role?**:** In this role you will;**
- Manage Agency-wide insurance procurement program including; identifying needs, requirements, risks and costs, researching new/upgraded products, acquiring market intelligence, evaluates options; at annual renewal, consults with insurance broker to identify cost effective options & ensure sufficient time to evaluate underwriter's response; reviews submissions of brokers/underwriters; consults with management to negotiate best & cost efficient coverage and determines policy coverage requirements.
- Provide expert advice on Agency wide loss prevention, risk management, risk transfer, business practices, including; reviewing risk/liability impacts of changes to Agency policies and programs, developing risk profiles, and determining best practices.
- Manage Agency claims management portfolio including; researching and analyzing claims histories and risk Liaise with purchasing agent in tendering and contracting.
- Collaborate with MPBSD for the renewal of insurance for leased/owned vehicles including a variety of special
- use commercial vehicles.
- Liaises with managers, brokers, insurers, adjusters, Legal, Sales & Marketing, Finance and OCWA Board and related Committees on all
- Design, develops and delivers training and information sessions on insurance portfolio and implications for client contracts.
- Support the design and facilitate the execution of the ERM policy and framework to foster a risk management culture.
- Establish, communicate and facilitate the use of appropriate ERM methodologies, tools and techniques in support of the ERM process (risk identification, assessment, response and action planning, monitoring and reporting)
- Provide guidance and risk assessment expertise to specific departments (Finance, HR, I&IT, etc.) for integrating risk analysis into department specific operational plans to facilitate the alignment of detailed business process level risk assessments with the ERM program
- Work collaboratively with risk owners to collect and consolidate risk action plans in risk registers, highlighting changes to the current level of risk, emerging risks and new risks; using this information to prepare quarterly risk reporting to EMT and CORM.
- Maintain/update the Agency's risk register and reports as required.

- Knowledge related to the structures, operations, programs and products of the property and casualty insurance industry to provide technical expertise to senior management.
- Water and Wastewater industry in order to assess impact and likelihood of risk exposures related to the business/industry environment, operations and financial loss.
- Business strategy in order to ensure that ERM framework and mitigation strategies are aligned with business objectives.
- Research methodology in order to conduct research, analyze situation and make recommendations on best practices for managing risk and changes to insurance strategy.

**Interpersonal, Communication and Analytical Skills**:

- Excellent Communication, facilitation and advisory skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships, to provide strategic advice, to conduct meetings and training, to exchange information with senior management, operations management, board of directors, insurance broker, adjusters, clients and other stakeholders.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and consultation skills, communication and to conduct elicitation risk mitigation meetings with senior management and operations management.
