**A Day in the Life **
The Associate Director, Donor Relations is responsible for providing leadership and a strategic vision for strengthening donor relationships through comprehensive engagement, stewardship, and recognition programs.

The incumbent develops and oversees strategic components of donor services throughout the lifecycle of a gift and determines the best strategies to provide an exceptional experience for prospects and donors. In addition, the Associate Director, Donor Relations is responsible for establishing and promoting a donor centric culture throughout the organization while leading, coaching, and supporting their team of Specialists.

**As the Associate Director, Donor Relations, you will**:

- Design and oversee the implementation of an integrated donor stewardship program, developing a strategic roadmap that emphasizes meaningful interactions with prospects and donors before, during and after completion of the gift;
- Formulate and execute strategies and tactics that foster long-term relationships with donors and create integral high-touch engagement opportunities for donors;
- Provide strategic oversight, counsel, and support for donor programs and stewarding efforts for the top 20 prospects and donors;
- Provide guidance and direction to faculties and departments to establish consensus and ensure consistent high-quality donor experiences at all levels;
- Develop and assess policies and procedures across the division and university that are essential for a comprehensive donor relations program;
- Leverage data and research to understand donor needs and interests to deliver effective engagement opportunities and acknowledgement;
- Drive a donor centric culture that promotes “exceptional” stewardship and creates integral touch points for stewardship;
- Establish donor centric best practices for services such as gift processing and receipting in partnership with Advancement Services;
- Help maintain and enhance the University’s reputation of integrity, responsibility and sound fiscal management;
- Ensure responsible management of spending balances of endowment and trust accounts to ensure utilization of funds and alignment with donor wishes;
- Provide leadership to staff, including assigning tasks, managing, coaching, mentoring and motivating.

**What you need to Succeed**
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline;
- 6-8 years of experience in an alumni or development/fundraising environment, specifically engaging with key volunteers and donors;
- 3-5 years of experience leading and managing a team;
- Solid and thorough understanding of university-level education and philanthropic environment in Ontario and Canada;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and execute events directly related to Advancement priorities;
- Highly developed relationship building skills;
- Ability to work with and steward community and high-level volunteers and donors;
- Superior planning and organizational abilities with sound project management skills;
- Expertise in identifying opportunities, anticipating challenges, and developing proactive strategies that support growth, creativity, partnership, and revenue generation.

**Salary and Benefit Information**
- Job Grade O, Salary Scale: $83,440-$143,040*;
- Target Hiring Range: $83,440-$90,000;
- This position includes full comprehensive benefits including tuition waiver.
