Community Partnership Liaison

**Responsibilities**:
- Foster positive relationships and deliver results to actively engage corporate partners, sponsors and advertisers as part of an overall acquisition and retention strategy
- Manage processes, track and implement promotional opportunities to ensure proper recognition is provided to fulfil contractual agreements
- Coordinate sponsor signage requirements and ensure sponsor and County corporate branding standards are met
- Responsible for content and programming development with individual sponsor activations
- Joint communications protocol for various events and promotional activities including delegate speaking and briefing notes, and joint media releases
- Liaise with marketing and communications to coordinate joint protocol requirements between Strathcona County and related corporate sponsors when required as part of activation, recognition and profile events
- Coordinate sponsor recognition and fund development activities such as the annual Canada Day VIP tent activities and Everybody Gets to Play Golf Tournament
- Write sponsorship proposals, letters and develop sponsorship promotional material
- Actively engage with sponsors on-site during activation and major community events such as Canada Day, Celebration of Lights and New Year's Eve
- Develop annual reports based on each individual sponsor requirements as part of an effective sponsor retention strategy
- Support with research and development on value-added rewards programs for department assets including the Active Pass
- Manage Rec and Culture Network submissions from local non-profit sport and community groups and ensure advertising guidelines are adhered to
- Coordinate bi-annual community group educational workshops through the Rec and Culture Network
- Revenues and expenses tracking for the sponsorship and advertising portfolio
**Qualification and Skills**
- Requires an understanding of sponsorship, marketing and communications functions within the County (including managing multi-organizational protocol), as well as an in-depth knowledge of community recreation programs and services. As part of sponsorship delivery, this position is expected to provide a wide range of integrated marketing communications services and programs to a varied group of clients
- Knowledge of sponsorship industry trends, developments and opportunities. An understanding of all aspects involved with the full sponsorship cycle, including contract negotiations, campaign development, partnership activation, client hospitality management and relationship/program evaluation
- Market analysis and evaluation experience specific to the sponsorship industry
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to build and foster strong corporate partnerships that allow the County to continuously grow and develop community recreation opportunities
- Ability to work effectively and independently, within tight timelines and able to adapt to changing deadlines
- Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables with a cross-functional team environment that can include many reporting levels and varying skills/competencies
- Sound written and verbal communication and presentation skills to articulate the components of any project clearly and effectively to external partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Skills related to writing to different audiences including business and creative writing
- Post-Secondary diploma in marketing, communications, or sponsorship related field plus 2 years’ related experience. Post-Secondary degree in a related field is considered an asset.
**Conditions of Employment**
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
