Pylon Electronics has a solid reputation in the repair and calibration of measuring instruments. We have six laboratories in Ottawa, Toronto, Dartmouth, Calgary, Edmonton, Richmond, and a Technical Sales office in Montreal, QC.

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
**Shipping and Receiving**:

- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents, and ensure accuracy against packing lists or purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to schedule deliveries and pickups.

**Inventory Management**:

- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate low stock situations to the appropriate personnel.

**Safe and Efficient Driving**:

- Operate company vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans) in a safe and responsible manner.
- Transport goods between different locations, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while driving.

**Documentation and Record Keeping**:

- Complete shipping and receiving documentation, such as bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping manifests.
- Keep detailed records of shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.

**Equipment Maintenance**:

- Perform routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Report any issues or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate personnel.

**Communication**:

- Collaborate with other logistic staff, procurement, and other relevant departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Provide updates on shipment statuses and address any issues related to shipping or receiving.

**Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with local, and provincial regulations related to transportation and shipping.

**Customer Service**:

- Interact with customers and suppliers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues related to shipments and deliveries.
- Personable and likes to work with others.
- Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position.
- Experience in operating forklifts.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Basic math and recording abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to lift over 50 lbs.
- Good physical condition.
- Security clearance will be required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Maintain cleanliness standards.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Able to handle fragile inventory with care and respect.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Well organized and attentive to details.
- Proven Time management skills.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and driving roles.
- Familiarity with shipping and inventory management software is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.

**Education**:

- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Driver’s License.
