Event Coordinator

This individual will provide leadership in the planning, coordination, marketing, communication and the evaluation processes of our upcoming events
**Responsibilities**:
- Organize facilities and manage all event’s logístical details (virtual and in in-person events)
- Create the festival fundraising goals and participate in soliciting funds to meet these
- Work with HSDC’s management team to organize and execute fundraising plans for the festival
- Use own creativity to market the festival and promote sponsorships, including to the various media, corporations, and other interest groups
- Assist in sourcing and managing vendors, overseeing onboarding process, creating layout, timelines and other detail-oriented plans
- Help to plan and coordinate entertainment for virtual and in-person event
- Prepare correspondence and make presentations in relation to the festival whenever required
- Organize the registration of participants, prepare programs and promotional materials, and publicize events
- Help in managing our social media platforms to promote the event and help create content and provide communication through our platforms
- Supervise, support and manage the festivals volunteers
- Coordinate all festival related activities, including various logistics such as: vendors, displays, audiovisual equipment, security, kids zone, etc.
- Use own creativity to solicit event sponsor (cash and in-kind)
- Prepare reports and make recommendations for future festivals
Essential Skills:
- Excellent planning and organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask and good time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment and should be able to deliver results, even when required to work under tight deadlines and pressure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people such as donors, clients, vendors, suppliers, staff members, volunteers and ethno-cultural diverse communities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Problem solving skills, creative, experimental skills with positive attitude and energy
- Participate in working to ensure the festival is on-time and within budget
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Great team player and the ability to work on fast phase environment
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A degree or certificate in Event Management or equivalent of 3 years’ experience in medium to large scale public events
- Experience in event coordination/ planning, fundraising and management
- Strong technical knowledge in organizing live and virtual event industry
- Positive and enthusiastic leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior time management, multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Professional, responsive and positive work attitude is essential, Resourcefulness and flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work with and for diverse population
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Social Media Platforms
**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual
**Salary**: $23.00 per hour
