**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a full-time HR Manager to join our fast-paced scaling start-up business. We are expanding quickly both organically and through acquisitions. The HR Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for managing the daily Human Resources functions including but not limited to; compensation, employee relations, administration of benefits and group retirement plans, employee records and database management, performance management, company policies, health and safety, recruitment, onboarding and terminations. This is a hybrid remote work opportunity that offers competitive benefits along with room for growth.

**General Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, focused on continuous improvement including but not limited to; employee engagement, training and development, company policies and procedures, succession planning, and performance management
- Supporting Finance with managing and processing payroll through the HRIS (Payworks) including but not limited to calculating payable hours, vacation, commissions, expenses, bonuses, tax withholdings and deductions etc.
- Managing electronic timekeeping systems or manually collecting and reviewing timesheets
- Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters
- Responsible for HRIS management, administration & maintenance of the database such as setting up new employees, status changes, vacation accruals and requests, processing ROE’s, termination of employees, generating reports, etc.
- Managing the onboarding process for new employees including providing new hire documentation, completion and set up on the HRIS (Payworks)
- Maintaining and updating the Employee handbook with any new policies or changes in legislation
- Responsible for managing and maintaining Employee files and ensuring all required documents are received and filed accordingly i.e., employee agreements, status changes in employment, benefit records etc.
- Responsible for full management of employee benefits administration including new employee set ups/removals and tracking employee eligibility
- Coach and develop leaders to deliver people and change management capabilities, including assisting with stakeholder management and communications
- Responsible for monitoring the HR mailbox and responding to all HR related inquiries concerns
- Handling confidential and highly sensitive information regarding employee concerns and information
- Assisting with special projects, initiatives, reporting, and documentation
- Other ad-hoc duties projects as required

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Post-secondary educational degree in Human Resources Management
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Human Resources Generalist, HR Business Partner or management role with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 2 years experience in full-cycle payroll management
- CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards would be a strong asset
- CPM certification or working towards would be a strong asset
- A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
- Excellent knowledge of finances including account principles and practices.
- Experience with an HRIS, Payworks experience considered a strong asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to find and implement unique and creative solutions
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity, tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Self-motivated to learn, work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
- Detail-oriented, and focused individual with exceptional organizational skills
- Public company experience is an asset
- Experience in the health and technology industry is an asset
