**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Manager, Patient Experience and Volunteer Resource Office.
Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Experience and Volunteer Resource Office, the Volunteer Specialist is responsible for the implementation and evaluation processes for the day-to-day management of volunteers and the volunteer program.
The Volunteer Specialist will function with a high degree of attention to detail, quality of workmanship, accuracy and ability to prioritize work in a dynamic, fast paced, team setting often working with competing priorities. The Volunteer Specialist is committed to providing the best possible experience to our patients and their families as well as our staff, physicians and volunteers.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
- Certificate in volunteer management an asset.
- Courses in management and leadership a definite asset.
- Minimum of 3 years’ related experience in healthcare setting required.
- Proven experience with volunteer management.
- Experience engaging with all levels of personnel.
- Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience required.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook required.
- Ability to manage data to produce statistics, metrics, scorecards and reports required.
- Demonstrated skills in training and delivery.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Demonstrated interviewing, communication and public speaking abilities.
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to Southlake Regional Health Centre standards.
- Adept in the use of technology to support program functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong multitasking ability.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions based on knowledge of current situations and sound judgement.
- Ability to produce high quality work with attention to detail.
