About the Role

As an **_Area Controller_**, your main focus will be on selling and profit in your Area through partnership and development of our store teams.

This hybrid/field role reports into the **_Area Manager_** and is based out **_Toronto, CA._**

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Take main responsibility for maximizing Selling & Profit in the Area through performance of the physical stores
- Execute the Commercial Plan for the Area based on the Regional plan
- Secure Omni Customer Experience through qualitative & efficient Work Force Planning and operations
- Partner with the Sales market team to set annual budget & forecast process for Sales, Efficiency & Costs
- Guide the Area to reach top & bottom-line goals
- Set hourly function plan with Store management to enable strong store operations, efficiency, and a great colleague and customer experience
- Secure strong execution by aligning function plan and schedules.
- Partner with the rest of the Area team to set the desired staff levels for all stores in your Area, in line with Sales market goals
- Identify, develop and coach talents & foster multi-function collaboration
- Required domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time

**Qualifications**
Who You Are:

- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance, Business or Economics or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of retail leadership or people management, preferably in retail management
- 1 - 3 years in a business analyst or finance role for a retail company preferred
- Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service
- Ability to coach and counsel staff and performance management and progressive discipline techniques
- Inclusive, positive, open to feedback, willing to multitask and learn on the job
- Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service

- Store orientation and commitment to store management development
- Proficient at Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to company specific systems
- Platform training skills and ability to communicate complex technical information in a simple and easy way
