Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada is focused on being the most Farmer centric agronomic solutions provider, helping farmer customers raise better crops and profitability. To drive agronomic expertise across Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada, the Agronomic Innovation Lead will manage a team of Agronomic Innovation Manager’s to drive agronomic expertise across our Canadian organization.

In this role, the Agronomic Innovation Lead will report to the Region Manager, Canada and be a member of the Canadian Leadership Team. This role will be responsible for strategy development and execution of agronomic solutions, building confidence in our proprietary products, agronomic training, local industry relations, key grower education, sustainability solutions, and new product launches through leadership of the Agronomic Innovation Team.

As a leader within the Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada team, your primary responsibility is our people: safety, promoting a culture of care, inclusion, coaching and fostering cross functional collaborative relationships across Canada.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead a world-class team of accomplished agronomic professionals; hire, develop, performance manage and mentor talent, bringing enthusiasm and positivity to the role. Continuously improve processes for how team members collaborate with each other, and with other Nutrien Ag Solutions teams and serve as a role model for servant leadership
- Drive organizational areas of focus and execution of agronomic priorities through collaboration with Canadian Division General Manager’s and their respective leadership teams
- Collaborate with Region and Division leadership, Product Management, Proprietary Products, Seed, Digital Agronomy, and Sustainability, to execute field validation trials and training of specific products, technologies, and solutions
- Develop the strategy and execution of Agronomic Solutions in partnership with Procurement, Product Management, and Sustainability
- Drive Proprietary Products confidence across Canada by leading the Agronomic Innovation Team’s focus on proprietary products testing, trials, and training in collaboration with Proprietary Reps, Product Management, Crop Protection Product Team’s, and Seed Product Team’s
- Maximize the value and passion of our field agronomists through training, cross-pollination of ideas and acting as a sponsor/owner for the agronomic agenda in Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada. Develop strong collaboration with other support and corporate functions such as Sustainability, Seed, Loveland Products, Training, and others
- Provide leadership and set a clear vision for the Agronomic Innovation Team and align capabilities with the needs of the respective Divisions
- Prioritize and oversee the team’s execution of applied field demonstrations, solution validation, data capture, visualization, customer problem resolution, and training to support business objectives
- Partner with Fertilizer, Crop Protection, and Seed Leadership to help drive new proprietary product launches through trialing, testing, and helping develop commercialization characteristics to bring products to market
- Lead the team in partnership with Division Product Managers to drive local technical marketing efforts focused on addressing grower pain points and production challenges while navigating them towards useful solutions
- Collaborate with data science and digital agronomy teams to build capabilities that optimize agronomic data capture, analysis, learnings, and knowledge transfer
- Establish and optimize a cyclical process to convert data into valuable, usable, locally relevant information and disseminate to support divisional business goals
- Collaborate closely with Division Leadership and local sales teams to identify and fill education and knowledge transfer gaps
- Lead the Agronomic Innovation team to optimize approaches and tactics to increase CPA product knowledge, sales confidence, and adoption of predictable, locally proven, sustainable products and solutions
- Partner with Government & Industry Affairs to network and collaborate with industry and local government agencies
