**Overview**

DNA Genotek products are marketed worldwide and support thousands of customers as they achieve breakthroughs in genomic and microbiome research, in diagnostics laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, in companion animal genomics and in personalized medicine.

The Production Technician is a key member of the Operations team. Within the scope of all in
- house chemistry and kit production they use chemical formulation and general laboratory experience to manufacture bulk chemistries as well as conduct all assembly builds related to custom packaging kits, sub-assemblies, and prototypes for inventory and immediate distribution. The employee adheres to Good Laboratory Practices to maintain equipment readiness and calibration, as needed. Acts as a back-up role for various Operations positions.

**Snapshot of Responsibilities**:

- Formulate bulk chemical solutions; perform dispensing and labeling operations in a lab environment following established work instructions.
- Assemble product components based on supervisor instruction, work instructions and customer order requirements.
- Accurate completion of work orders, batch records, quality records and lab reports.
- Meet quality and regulatory requirements in relation to product assembly. Carryout assigned tasks and communicate completion to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Safely handle and effectively store raw materials and finished products for adherence to regulatory and safety requirements.
- Perform inventory cycle counts.
- Support R&D and Engineering for validation activities related to laboratory operations.
- Carry out and support non-conformance report investigations related to laboratory operations.
- Time management & prioritization: independent, organized approach to fast-paced, multiple concurrent assignment environment.
- Detail oriented: right the first time approach.
- Accountability: deadline-oriented, commitments to internal customers must be met.
- Chemical aptitude: hands-on experience with equipment and production processes.
- Compliance: all activities must comply with medical device regulations (FDA, GMP, ISO13485)
- May perform somecalibrationorverificationofchemicalproductionandinspectionequipment.
- Prepare and package bulk products for distribution. Communicate with other departments to facilitate distribution of prepared materials.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate for a Production Technician.

**Education**:

- Diploma in biological science or equivalent combination of relevant job experience and training.
- Minimum 3 years in a chemical laboratory environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of quality management system such as ISO9001 orISO13485.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP)
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks and work in a teamatmosphere
- Ability to understand and follow procedures andprocesses
- Good communication skills and confidence in highlighting quality issues.
- Must be physically fit and be able to lift up to 23 kg (50lbs)
- Must be able to read, write and speakEnglish
- Organizational skills required
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- A reliable team player with a great attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Good attendance and punctuality are essential.
