JOB SUMMARY:
Maintains the physical plant in an effective, economical manner to ensure that guests receive a clean, attractive, and secure place to stay. Protects the property of the hotel.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with the Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Rooms Division Manager, performing daily maintenance and repair work, as requested by staff, with regard to plumbing, heating, air conditioning, painting, wallpaper hanging, electrical repairs, as well as general repairs; responds to emergency maintenance requests immediately, as received from all staff, guests or clients.

Performs preventative maintenance projects according to daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly inspection and maintenance plans, for all hotel facilities and equipment such as pool, hot tubs, fire, and health & safety inspections, etc.

Removes garbage to the proper storage areas; recycles materials when possible, breaking down the cardboard; and, ensures the removal of garbage according to the contractor's schedule.

Maintains external property including landscaping, snow removal, and winter salting; records information in advance about the salting and snow removal in the Front Desk logbook.

Reads and initials the logbook and memos.

Maintains an inventory of maintenance stock items; submits purchase orders for stock as required to Rooms Division Manager for approval.

Provides security for guests, visitors, clients, staff, and property by following all key procedures; organizing, repairing, and maintaining complete and accurate records of electronic locking systems;
maintaining work areas in a clean, safe, well-organized condition; reporting suspicious activity by guest(s) or others; and, following all other safety regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Rooms Division Manager and/or the Owners.

QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated general trades knowledge, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning, caulking, grouting, painting, wallpaper hanging, electrical repairs, as well as general repairs.

Physical ability to lift heavy weights, climb ladders, pull heavy items, bend and use job-specific tools is required.

Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills are required; a positive, energetic personality is required.

Knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures, including accident prevention policies; controls for noise and extreme temperatures; procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to viruses and bacteria; and safe practices for physically demanding work.

**Salary**: $17.50 per hour
