**Responsibilities**:
OVERALL PURPOSE:
The Scheduling Assistant is responsible for:
Preparing work assignments for STA’s and schedules for Control Operators.

Updating schedules and monitoring allotments of vacation/lieu hours/etc.

Preparing payroll time sheets for field staff.

Approving shift exchanges, lieu, and vacation day changes according to the collective agreement and policies.

Responding to inquiries from STA’s, Control Operators and Supervisors.

Ensuring shift schedules and allocations are within the collective agreement and policies.

Conducting call outs to fill shifts using Company radio or telephone.

**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION:
Grade 12 graduation, plus short courses on the use of office related software.

EXPERIENCE:
Requires 18 months previous experience in scheduling, or activities involving knowledge of Sky Train and Customer Service, and where organizational and analytical skills have been gained.

Includes computer experience and knowledge of collective agreement as it pertains to payroll and hours of work.

Plus 6 months on the job to become familiar with work assignment sheet preparation, scheduling procedures, policies and riles.

**Other Information**:
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

**Work Schedule**:
40 hours per week.

**Work Designation**:
Resident

This position works predominately on-site.

**Rate of Pay**:
Wage: $35.9 per hour

The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
