**Introduction**:
**Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to**:
- Manage a range of projects and project teams, including projects that span organizations and geographies;
- Manage all phases of the project life cycle in collaboration with the project sponsor. These activities may include:
- Assessing business needs /project requirements;
- Developing Project Plans and Charters; working with Finance and the Project Sponsor to develop Project budgets as required;
- Defining project processes including scope, timeline, cost, issue, risk, change, quality and resource management; review and communicate project status on a regular basis with the project sponsor, project team or other stakeholders as required;
- Monitoring and controlling project activities against the project plan during all project phases using effective change control practices;
- Writing project reports, technical reports, status reports, requirements, briefing notes in collaboration with sponsor or project team members;
- Identifying project resource requirements and work with functional managers to ensure projects are appropriately resourced;
- Ensuring project team members understand their roles, responsibilities and deliverables;
- Collaborating with Procurement and Legal in the development of project agreements and/or contracts and to develop/review Request for Quotes Request for Proposals and participate in proposal evaluations;
- Manage stakeholder engagement and relations including problem resolution, negotiating and resolving conflicts;
- Manage 3rd party vendors selected to participate in assigned projects;
- Maintain project documentation according to Project Management methodology and ICES’ Asset Management policy.
4. Develop and manage project communications including working with ICES’ Communications Department;
5. With direction from the Manager, PMO, facilitates the PMO’s Project Intake Process;
6. Contribute towards the enhancement and support of a project management body of knowledge and best practices for the PMO and the organization in general, including the development of forms, templates, processes and procedures;
7. Assist with the general orientation of new members of the role group or other project support staff as required;
8. Contribute to ICES strategic initiatives as required;
9. Other duties as may be assigned within the scope of this position.
**Knowledge, skills and abilities required**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
- PMP certification (Project Management Professional).
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience, ideally in health care or health services research.
- Experience in Business Analyst methodology is preferred
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects within tight timelines;
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are required;
- Strong meeting facilitation skills and ability to bring project teams to consensus and drive decisions;
This is a full-time permanent opportunity located at ICES Central in Toronto.
