Financial Controller

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Responsible for the financial control and reporting framework of two companies as well as leading an accounting department of 3-5 people
- Full cycle accounting including month-end and year-end processes, journal entries, bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury and inventory
- Develop and refine reporting processes to ensure timely strategic information for management decision making
- Implement and closely monitor internal control policies, procedures and processes
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Prepare annual and quarterly budgets and track results to budgets
- Review intercompany transactions and reconcile the accounts
- Manage cash flow and capital spending
- Manage tax filing processes to ensure compliance with corporate tax, HST and other government reconciliations and remittances
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all staff and that all transactions are correctly reflected in the accounts
- Manage and coach finance and accounting team members across both companies
- Prepare and circulate key financial results
- Manage payroll systems
- Analyze business results and make recommendations to improve our businesses
**Financial Controller Requirements**:
- University degree in Accounting/Finance
- CPA in good standing preferred
- 5 - 10 years accounting experience (at least 3 years in a corporate accounting environment)
- Strong knowledge and focus on internal controls and compliance
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax and experience preparing and fillings corporate tax returns.
- Excellent judgement, problem solving and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
