**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Develop action plans to accomplish strategic and operational requirements, including operationalizing and implementing child welfare policies and supporting regional offices to achieve positive outcomes for children, youth, families and communities.
- Provide child welfare policy and program direction, expertise and advice, including the areas of oversight/reporting mechanisms, shared services, human trafficking, critical incidents, transition-aged youth, etc.
- Contribute to the analysis and operationalization of provincial, sector-wide initiatives, data and processes to support Child Welfare Redesign. This includes work specifically in the areas of accountability, sustainability, service quality and equity.
- Prepare briefing materials within tight deadlines to provide information and advice to senior management on a variety of complex child welfare matters.

**Project Management, Organizational, and Computer Skills**:

- You have demonstrated success at developing action plans to accomplishing strategic and operational requirements.
- You can lead, participate or act as Ministry resource for operational or program reviews and/or evaluations.
- You have demonstrated experience in managing and leading projects.
- You have the skills and ability to develop and implement plans, monitor progress and monitor project deliverables.
- You can effectively balance a demanding workload in a team environment.

**Analytical, Evaluative and Problem-Solving Skills**:

- You have analytical skills to assess the impacts of policy and operational decisions, identify and resolve system gaps, determine risks and mitigation strategies, analyze service plan submissions and recommend funding allocations.
- You have problem-solving skills to develop options, plans and creative solutions to resolve funding, compliance and service issues with agencies and stakeholders and across the sector.

**Negotiation, Influencing and Stakeholder Relation Skills**:

- You have consultation, partnership building and relationship management skills to establish key stakeholder linkages across the OPS, with service providers, and in communities.
- You have interpersonal and influencing skills to work with agencies, municipalities and other community partners to engage and provide information on legislative and program requirements and manage change.
- You have a proven ability to plan and collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to establish approaches and protocols for service delivery within and across organizations, service sectors, levels of government, ministries, etc.

**Technical and Program Delivery Knowledge**:

- You have knowledge of public administration, organizational theory and practices, community development, social service delivery by transfer payment agencies to promote effective business planning and accomplish strategic and operational requirements.
- You can provide information, advice and recommendations to ministry staff in support of provincial policy and program development and issues pertaining to the transfer payment sector.
- You have knowledge and understanding of relevant provincial legislation, policies, standards and programs, as well as strategic directions and government priorities related to child welfare and other related human service sectors.
- You have knowledge and understanding of all areas of business administration, including organizational theory and practices, management principles and budgeting.

**Communication Skills**:

- You have strong written communication skills to prepare correspondence, presentations, reports and respond to information requests.
