We are looking for a **Full-time**, **Job Placement Specialist** for our **Oshawa** branch.

**Key Job Functions**
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of our services, eligibility of programs that we administer through Employment Ontario, and how we can support the individual needs of job seekers and employers.
- Continuously engaging and supporting clients with skills development and employment preparation activities, documenting progress in their service plan with up-to-date plan items and real-time case notes
- Coaches and motivates clients throughout their job search and during their job placements toward securing meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities.
- Keeps current with prevailing labor market conditions as well as new developments within local and regional labor markets to support service coordination and job development.
- Continually develops job placement opportunities for program participants while promoting clients of diverse backgrounds through Job Carving, Job Development, and Job Matching by assessing “fit” with the position and organization.
- Advocating on behalf of clients with employers to access accommodations that will support client success in the job.
- Conducts site audit with employers to validate safe working conditions and compliance with applicable employment legislation prior to job placement.
- Establishes and strengthens new and existing employer relationships in diverse industries and continuously develops job placement opportunities for clients.
- Coordinates events, such as hiring fairs, to support employer needs and attract new clients.
- Attends networking events and hiring fairs to connect with new employers to promote VPI Employment Services
- Completes administrative functions, including scheduling appointments, and completing paperwork,, which includes administering placement agreements for employer incentives and maintaining files to ensure compliance
- Other duties pertaining to the position, as required.
