**Job Overview**
- Part-time, contract
- Hours per week vary depending on each student’s needs and the tutor’s availability
- Most tutoring sessions occur in the evenings & on weekends
- Preference for tutors who can commit for the school year or semester
- Compensation generally ranges from a base rate of $22-25/hr, depending on educational qualifications and work experience.
- We serve students in
- person & virtually throughout Orleans, Rockland, Cumberland,Navan, and Gloucester.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess students' reading levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement personalized reading intervention plans.
- Utilize engaging instructional techniques to improve reading comprehension and fluency.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents and teachers on student progress.
- Travel to and tutor in student's home(pre-screened for safety)/library or tutor online Monitor student progress and submit session reports for each student

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in teaching or tutoring reading, especially in an intervention setting.
- Strong understanding of phonics, fluency, and comprehension strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Certified or retired teachers,professionals, student teachers, Education Assistants, etc.
- Have knowledge of Ontario K-12 School Curriculum.
- Previous experience working with special needs (an asset)
- Access to reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and able to travel in and around Orleans, Rockland, Cumberland,Navan, and/or Gloucester.
- Open to completing a criminal background check (Background checks from other agencies are accepted)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certification in Reading Intervention or related areas.
- Experience with diverse student populations.
