Bairn Croft Residential Services (BCRS) was established in 1996 and provides residential and community-based services and treatment for dependent and semi-dependent male and female persons with developmental disabilities and special needs. We provide services and intervention for children and adults of all ages who present with a range of functioning levels, emotional adjustment issues, and behavioural challenges. We also offer specialized services that address the needs of individuals without significant intellectual deficits but who face challenges secondary to neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, or other behavioural challenges or learning deficits that result in serious impairments in daily functioning.

**In lieu of education**_**:_Applicants will be considered for employment opportunities provided they commit to and complete a 3 month (paid) educational and training program offered by BCRS. The continuation of employment will be dependent on work ethic and successful completion of program.

**BCRS provides a work environment for individuals to gain the knowledge and experience to pursue many careers. It is a great start for anyone pursuing careers in social work services, child services, law enforcement, youth justice, education, counseling, psychology, Cognitive Based Therapy and Applied Behaviour Analysis.**

**Experience**:Previous experience is an asset but not required.

**Positions available**:Contract, Shift Work (Days, Evenings, Weekends, Overnights)

**Wages**:$15.50 /hour while enrolled in the training program. Increased to $19.00/ $19.50 per hour after successful completion the Educational and Training Program.
- **An extra $3.00 per hour** permanent government wage enhancement, on top of existing hourly wages.

**Work Setting**:working with adults in a residential setting.

**Target Groups or Clients**: Male and Female Adults. Your employment will include working with culturally diverse groups, and will also include persons who are deaf/hard of hearing, persons who are blind/visually impaired, persons with intellectual disabilities, persons with mental health disabilities, and persons with learning disabilities.

**Job Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs
- Resolve conflict situations
- Supervise activities of clients living in group homes
- Implement behaviour management programs
- Provide personal services support to persons with special needs
- Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
- Develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures
- Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
