Plant Manager

**Overview**:
Simcap Finishing is looking for an experienced plant manager to coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operations of its high-volume powder coat and metal finishing lines. As the plant manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that daily output is both efficient and maximized at all times. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
**Job Specific Responsibilities & Duties**:
- Supervision of the production lines and all production employees, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure the continuous and efficient flow of material to and from the production lines as required based on the operational schedule.
- Review customer product drawings and advise shop employees of efficient hanging methods.
- Monitor & adjust production line metrics including oven temperatures, output speed, and chemicals.
- Coordinate shipping/receiving of materials with transport contacts.
- Monitor the performance of the production line to minimize line stoppage and productivity interruptions.
- Oversee and delegate the cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of loading bars as well as sublimation machinery, powder coat ovens, and all other building operational equipment and systems.
- Monitor customer materials for defects and damage; and communicate any issues internally and/or to the clients directly.
- Assist with training of new hires and coordinate cross-training and re-training for all personnel.
- Provide feedback to HR department on employee concerns, salary negotiations, and recommendations (including performance and attendance) and assist in the building of a high performing team.
- Perform and coordinate inventory verification on all raw goods, First Aid supplies, toiletries, and all necessary production tooling. Proactively communicate with suppliers to ensure supply efficiency.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
- Certain order entry and pricing verification, as well as client and supplier communication.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production supervision or a similar leadership role
- A post secondary degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Engineering or Management is an asset.
- Takes initiative, exercises good judgment in day-to-day business decisions.
- Bilingual
- Ability to lead and operate with a continuous sense of urgency in a fast-paced work environment
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload of the team to accomplish goals.

- Coordonner l'expédition et la réception des matériaux avec les contacts de transport.
- Contrôler les performances de la ligne de production afin de minimiser les arrêts de la ligne et les interruptions de la productivité.
- Superviser et déléguer le nettoyage, l'entretien et la préparation des barres de chargement ainsi que des machines de sublimation, des fours de poudrage et de tous les autres équipements et systèmes opérationnels du bâtiment.
- Contrôler les matériaux des clients pour détecter les défauts et les dommages, et communiquer tout problème en interne et/ou directement aux clients.
- Aider à la formation des nouveaux employés et coordonner la formation polyvalente et le recyclage de l'ensemble du personnel.
- Effectuer et coordonner la vérification de l'inventaire de toutes les matières premières, des fournitures de premiers soins, des articles de toilette et de tout l'outillage de production nécessaire.
