Mortgage Agent

The Mortgage Agent will be responsible for providing multi-faceted assistance to the mortgage company which serves the mortgage and other borrowing needs of the Skyline Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), the Skyline Industrial REIT, the Skyline Retail REIT, the Skyline Clean Energy Fund, and the Skyline Group of Companies. This includes assisting with strategic planning, business development, and providing marketing/public relations services while supporting Skyline’s shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.

**What you will be doing**:

- Work closely with the Vice President, SMFI to develop an overall short-term and long-term strategy for asset financing.
- Work with the Vice President, SMFI to look after all mortgage requirements for new acquisitions and refinancings of existing property.
- Work with existing Lender relationships to solicit loan offers.
- Coordinate and complete all paperwork and administration duties involved in Loan Processing.
- Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Assist with providing leadership and initiative on proactive debt management.
- Work with Real Estate Appraisers for land and property evaluation and ensure accurate and up-to-date information is gathered for each property.

**What we look for**:

- Understanding of Mortgages and finance, economics, and general business principles as well as an understanding of the Multi-Residential and Commercial real estate markets.
- Excellent client service and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrate a self-starting attitude with the ability of being highly organized.
- Professional presentation skills and demeanor.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field as well as Real Estate underwriting experience.
- Working towards or successful completion of a Mortgage Agent License (required).
- Valid driver’s license is required.
